Taking care of business

Traditionally, dust collection systems have been used in facilities where large amounts of dust are generated. For instance, a woodworking facility would likely require a good dust collection system in place, as doing so would usually be required by various regulations.

Dust collection systems, however, are not just in place to meet statutory requirements, they are also in place to ensure that the equipment in the facility are protected from dust-caused problems.

Many experts advise that purchases of dust collection systems should not be made on price. A cheap unit, quite simply, may end up costing a whole lot more in the long run if it isn't able to meet the needs of the facility in which it has been set up.

According to some experts, cyclone collectors and fabric filter collectors are the two most popular kinds of dust collection systems. The former is useful for collecting course dust. The latter is useful for collecting fine dust.
