Collecting the dust

You can get dust collectors in all shapes and sizes. If you're going to use such a unit for a large facility, then you'll need an industrial strength version. But if you're going to use it for a small shop, then a portable version will do the job just fine.

Dust collectors essentially suck up particles of dust so that you don't breathe them in. If, for instance, you're working on a project in your garage, you might need the aid of a dust collector. Simply opening the garage door while you're, say, sawing lumber, is insufficient. You'll need to ensure that the particles of wood are removed from your immediate surroundings. Breathing in too much saw dust, as you can well imagine, is unhealthy. But if you get yourself a dust collector, you'll be able to address these concerns.

As it turns out, there are a number of portable dust collectors on the market. Before going out and making a purchase, however, you'll want to consider the dust holding capacity and power of the units you're interested in.
